What are the benefits?
Some of the significant benefits of Pilates are as follows:
• Body awareness
• Injury prevention and rehabilitation
• Increased flexibility
• Core strength
• Body control and symmetry
How long are the sessions?
The sessions are 1 hour long and vary in level as each session is tailored specifically to you and designed to meet your individual needs and fitness goals.
Will it help me lose weight?
Pilates will provide the body with a longer and leaner appearance while toning and shaping the body. Increasing lean muscle mass significantly increases the body's calorie-burning potential to maximize weight loss.
How often should I train?
Results of Pilates training depend on a person's lifestyle and the frequency of workouts as with any form of exercise. The suggested frequency is 2-3 times per week to see & feel significant results most efficiently.
As Joseph Pilates said, "In 10 sessions you will feel the difference, in 20 sessions you will see the difference, and in 30 sessions you will have a whole new body."
Can I do Pilates if I have any injuries or physical limitations?
Yes...that is the beauty of Pilates! There are always modifications to the exercises to help and not aggravate an existing injury or physical limitation. Pilates is rehabilitative for many back and muscular injuries as it is a low impact form of exercise focused on strengthening and aligning the body.
Do I need any equipment or special clothing?
You will need a soft exercise mat and comfortable clothing that you can move in easily. As the training progresses, fitness props can be incorporated such as a fitness circle, physioball, theraband and hand weights to challenge the body by increasing resistance & deepening the intensity level of the exercises.
Can I do Pilates with a buddy or spouse?
Yes! Doing Pilates with others is a wonderful and cost-saving way to exercise and often provides extra motivation to keep you committed to the practice. Group Pilates sessions always have a special energy which makes exercising more fun.
Can I do Pilates if I am pregnant or just had a baby?
Absolutely! Pilates is an excellent form of exercise for pregnant women as well as women who have recently given birth. It increases the strength of the abdominal muscles, back and pelvic floor as the body goes through the extreme changes that occur in the pre and post-natal period.
Is there a cancellation policy?
Sessions must be canceled within a 24-hour period prior to the scheduled session or the full price of the session will be charged. If you have a package, the session will be applied.
